« Last post by thompy on December 15, 2019, 03:45:07 PM »
Hi all,

First off haven't been on her for a while so hi agaiin two problems one medilist won't reset the hopper its something I have done whilst messing with that stop gum thing .

Another is under pays, on the first coin one cherrie pays 2 coins no problem but like on a two coin pay on say bells it might pay 14 instead of 18 you know?

That zero stop if it is right it wouldn't cause this would it?

Many thanks

Andy

Electro Mechanical Machines / Re: Bally E/M fluorescent lamp issues

I've noticed so many formerly made in the USA fluorescents are now made in China. I think the new end piece housings on the tubes are metric because they appear to be larger than what they used to be.

Interesting, i am still using NOS bulbs, when i get some new ones i’ll check this out.

The company closed shortly after Tom's death, all of the inventory was sold to Squires and Corriethough I am not sure exactly what all they got (such as molds equipment etc).

I have been off the forum for a while. How did this company turn out? Are they still around?

I have several of those photo transistors if you need them.

i Didn’t think you were dumping me,  and you don’t own a machine?  Wow,  would have never guessed that.

I might replace the Ptrans’s and start there.  It has to be on this board, not the other reel board.

Thanks again dan.

I too am an OLD radio and TV guy, then I got tired of starving one week and eating like a king the nextthat I got a real job that started in fixing IC test equipment and ended being a Network Engineer.
There are times that I have found some of the photo transistors just didn't quite put out enoughvoltage and believe it or not some of the bulbs so dirty that not enough light would shine to getthe photo-transistor to do much of anything.
My reason for referring you was not to dump you onto someone else, rather I just have never ownedor even worked on a physical machine and figured they might be a better source of information.

Thanks Dan,  I think I narrowed it down to a specific reader card,  I’m going to focus on that.

I have an account at NLG, but you’re so knowledgeable I wanted your opinion on this.

The 742 and 831 machines are so “simple” compared to this thing.  But being an old radio and tv guy I can’t let this thing get the best of me.

Thanks again man!
