Help needed on Seeburg AY160
« on: February 22, 2018, 05:56:29 AM »
I have a Seeburg AY 160 that I restored to operation, but have an unusual problem that I hope someone can supply some insight on. When I got the unit, one of the problems was that the amp needed to be re capped, and one of the big can capacitors had blown completely up. I replaced all necessary caps, and have good sound and function, however, I find that there is a large ac voltage between the metal chassis and earth ground, around 900 volts. The dc plate and other voltages are within specs compared to chassis ground. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this type of problem and where I should look for a fix. Is it possible that the transformer is causing this? I don't see any obviious burnt wires or smell anything bad. Any help with this would be appreciated. I can supply more info if needed.
